Dry rot and wet rot cause decay to the timbers in your property. Both are very serious and require urgent attention if you suspect you have them.

Dry Rot

Dry Rot can spread rapidly and is caused by a type of fungus. It is often caused by a lack of ventilation which produce damp conditions for the fungus to thrive. It is often found in areas where there is little light and/or oxygen.

It is essential to deal with dry rot as soon as possible as it can spread from timbers through to masonry and has almost a weed like spreading ability.

Wet Rot

Wet rot does not pose the same threat in terms of spreading as dry rot does so long as the damp problems are dealt with. A full course of wet rot treatment is required if suspected and it is best to leave this to the professionals. Call today if you think you might have a wet rot problem.
